We hope that you have as much fun being involved in the cake design process as we do!
If you would like us to create your wedding cake, you can either browse our website and ask us to recreate one of our creations from our portfolio with a few tweaks to match your wedding theme, or you can come along to the Bakery and have a chat with us about what you have in mind!
Initial consultation and cake tasting
We encourage all our clients to come along and meet us at the Bakery to talk over how we can create your dream wedding cake. Consultations are by appointment only and last approximately a hour. At the consultation we’ll bring out a pot of tea and a complementary selection of our home-baked cakes to help you decide on which flavour or flavours you would like your cake to be.
Alternatively if you are unable to visit the bakery or don’t require a consultation, we are able to send you a sample pack of our delicious cakes for a small charge to help you decide on the flavour of your cake.
Dietary requirements
We are able to produce gluten free, dairy free and alcohol free cakes (i.e. our fruitcakes are made with brandy and sherry and we can omit this at your request). Please let us know if you have any dietary requirements before your tasting session so we can bake accordingly. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee that our cakes will be nut-free.
Decoration
If you have in mind an idea of the style, colours, shape or decoration you would like to see on your cake, we can discuss how to incorporate these during our initial consultation. If you would like specific details to be replicated on your cake, such as the lace of a vintage bridal veil or your wedding flowers, then bring along a photo or a swatch of material and we can work that into the design.
Fresh Flowers
If you would like fresh flowers on your cake, your florist will need to supply these. We can discuss the specific floral requirements with your florist and will dress your cake with the fresh flowers at the venue. You will need to discuss with your florist the suitability of your choice of flower for placing on a cake. Some flowers are not suitable for cake decoration and we will not be liable for contamination of the cake should unsuitable flowers be used.
Non-edible components
Along with adorning our cakes with sugar decorations, we can also use non-edible trinkets such as beads and gems. These must be removed before the cake is served. We do not accept any liability from the use of non-edible components.

Stand Hire
We supply all stands necessary and ask for a cheque deposit of £150 which we hold until the stand is returned. All stands must be returned within 7 days.
When to order
We request that orders for wedding cakes are placed no less than three months before the date of delivery. For all other celebration cakes one month notice is required. Depending on the time of year, we may be able to accept orders with shorter notice periods so please call us to discuss your requirements.
Payment
A non-refundable deposit of £200 is required when orders are placed. For smaller cakes under £200, a non-refundable deposit of £50 is required when orders are placed. The balance is then due one month before delivery/collection of your cake. We currently accept cheques or cash.
Delivery and Collection
We are able to deliver your cake on request and where applicable a delivery charge will be quoted. If required we will contact your venue’s event coordinators to arrange where and when to set up. Our delivery service includes full set up and dressing of the cake. Alternatively you may choose to collect your cake from the Bakery and we will advise you on how best to transport it to you event, assemble and dress it accordingly. If you do arrange for your cake to be collected, we do not accept any liability for any damage incurred to your cake once it has left the Bakery.
Cancellations
Should you wish to cancel your order your deposit is non-refundable. If we have started making your cake and have incurred costs over the sum of your deposit, you will be also be charged this cost. All refunds will be paid via cheque within 14 days of receipt of notification to cancel.
